Today is Zustand day. We just released v4.5.0 and v5.0.0-alpha.0, our first alpha release for v5. To be honest, I personally didn't do anything special. Those updates were mostly done by contributors, and my job was basically to handle the release. People often ask what's new in v5, but v5 doesn't add any new features. New features were already added in v4.x. The major version bump is primarily for breaking changes. In our case, we removed all deprecated features and dropped support for older versions of various things. So, there's nothing particularly exciting in v5, except for one thing: As it drops deprecated features, it's more lightweight. Zustand has always been quite small, but v5.0.0-alpha.0 is just 622 bytes according to bundlephobia. The size is one of Zustand's strengths, I believe. I hope someone tries it out and shares their experiences.
